Hello, I'm Sam,

I am a young photographer, mountain biker, and college student from Virginia. I began photographing in high school upon being introduced to the dark room and the process of making images. Photography is my outlet for expression and has given me a passion for art.

My personal photography is inspired by the masters of photography; Robert Frank, Meyerowitz, Cartier-Bresson, Christenberry, and Friedlander to name a few. More than anything else though, my images are inspired by the poems of folk and protest singers like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie, and the verbal images they paint in their songwriting.

My work as a professional is an extension of my passions and interests. Animals, cars, cyclists and their bicycles, and people who share these interests.

When I am not photographing, I'm probably on a bike with my girlfriend, Maegen or studying at William & Mary.
